Kerner Forum Driving Directions

The forum takes place on the Stanford Univserity campus in Tresidder Union, Oaks Lounge (upstairs), 459 Lagunita.

The closest metered and permit parking is located in the Tressider parking lot. Directions from the lot to Oaks Lounge are below.

Parking Permits
Vehicles are required to have a valid Stanford parking permit or park in a metered space (meters cost $.25 for 10 minutes). The Tressider lot has pay machines at which one can buy a permit (cash or credit card). Day permits are $12 and can also be purchased from Stanford Parking & Transportation Services.

From San Francisco via Highway 280

• Take 280 South in the direction of San Jose.
• Proceed to the Alpine Road exit (after Sand Hill Road).
• Turn left on Alpine Road.
• Turn right at the first traffic light onto Junipero Serra Boulevard.
• Turn left at the second traffic light onto Campus Drive East. (The first traffic light is Campus Drive West).
• Turn left at the first stop sign onto Mayfield Avenue. Mayfield turns sharply to the left after approximately 100 yards.
• After the turn, the Tresidder parking lot is on the right.
• Look for visitor parking ticket machines.

From San Francisco via Highway 101

• Take 101 South in the direction of San Jose/Los Angeles.
• Proceed to the Embarcadero/Oregon Expressway exit.
• Follow the signs to Embarcadero West/Stanford University.
• Stay on Embarcadero for approximately two miles.
• After crossing El Camino Real, Embarcadero will become Galvez.
• Stay in the left lane, proceeding straight into campus. (The stadium will be on the left).
• Turn left at the first stop sign after the stadium onto Campus Drive.
• Proceed approximately one mile to Mayfield Avenue.
• Turn right onto Mayfield. Mayfield turns sharply to the left in approximately 100 yards.
• After the turn, the Tresidder parking lot is on the right.
• Look for visitor parking ticket machines.

From San Jose via Highway 280

• Take 280 North in the direction of San Francisco.
• Proceed to the Page Mill Road exit, turning right onto Page Mill Road at the end of the off-ramp.
• At the second traffic light, turn left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard.
• Proceed approximately one mile to the traffic light at Campus Drive East.
• Turn right onto Campus Drive.
• Turn left at the first stop sign onto Mayfield Avenue. Mayfield turns sharply to the left after approximately 100 yards.
• After the turn, the Tresidder parking lot is on the right.
• Look for visitor parking ticket machines.

From San Jose via Highway 101

• Take 101 North in the direction of San Francisco.

From the Tresidder Parking Lot to the Forum

• From the parking lot, walk onto campus
• Tresidder Union is directly on the left and Dinkelspiel Auditorium is on the right. Dowstairs in Tressider you will see restaurants and a bikeshop. Oaks Lounge is upstairs.
• Facing Tressider take the stairs on either the lefthand or righthand sige (you should be able to see Kinko's on the lefthand side).
• If you go up the lefthand side, turn right and pass the credit union on your right. Oaks Lounge is just inside the doors in front of you.
• If you go to the righthand side, at the top of the stairs turn to go towards the back of the building and follow the sign that says meeting rooms. Oaks Lounge is at the end of the hall on the right.

Alternate parking

• If Tressider is full, retrace your steps back to Campus Drive.
• Go left on Campus Drive.
• Turn left onto Bowdoin
• Look for the Parking Structure 6 sign
• Make a left on Wilbur Way and an immediate right into the underground parking garage.
• Visitor parking is on the 1st floor.
• Look for visitor parking ticket machines.
• Head towards the Stanford Bookstore
• Pass the bookstore on your right, Dinkelspiel Auditorium will come up on your left and Tressider will be directly in front of you.
