Leadership Skills for Classroom Teachers: Keynote Speech

On Thursday, May 16, SCOPE senior scholar Ann Lieberman, a world-renowned educational researcher, and SCOPE affiliate Carol Campbell, associate professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, will deliver the keynote speech at the Teacher Learning and Leadership Program (TLLP) training session. Lieberman will speak about teacher leadership and Campbell will address what research tells us about the impact of the TLLP.

Lieberman and Campbell, along with Anna Yashkina, recently co-authored a research report on the TLLP, which asks three overarching questions: What is the value of TLLP for teachers? To what extent have the overall goals of TLLP been realized? What lessons can be learned so far?

"Leadership Skills for Classroom Teachers" is an intensive, two-and-a-half-day training session which provides formal and informal opportunities to network with colleagues, particularly those working on similar initiatives. Plenary and breakout “carousel” sessions will be led by experienced personnel from the Ministry of Education and from the Ontario Teachers' Federation (OTF) and the Affiliates. There will be opportunities for individuals and groups to debrief, reflect and consider workshop content and activities in relation to their own initiatives, and to prepare to communicate with team members and other colleagues in their home school and board.
