Our Work

The Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education envisions a world in which each and every child has access to a meaningful education. We engage in research and practice to advance education systems in the United States and internationally by developing authentic relationships with educators, organizations, and policymakers to address pressing problems of equity, opportunity, and quality in education. We work in three ways to support efforts toward equity:

  1. Research at a point in time to provide thick description and to better understand what works for whom, why, and how.
  2. Document ongoing efforts to provide in-the-moment feedback to the people doing the work thus supporting the work as it occurs and by being better able to tell the whole story later in the work.
  3. Working directly with partners to create conditions that address equitable access to quality.
