Dorothy Steele and Becki Cohn-Vargas discuss the negative effects of trying to be "colorblind," and how a multicultural education should be taught in schools that have a high population of students of color and low-income students. 

Steele and Cohn-Vargas are the authors of the recently published book, Identity Safe Classrooms: Places to Belong and Learn.
