How does one of the highest-achieving school systems in the world manage teacher time?

Time for Learning: A Day in the Life of a Singaporean Teacher is a product of SCOPE's “Comparative Study of Time Use in Schools”. The study examines policies and practices related to teacher quality used by high-achieving jurisdictions. The policies reviewed include those associated with teacher recruitment, preparation, retention, and professional learning, as well as those that structure the work of teaching:
- curriculum and assessment policies;
- school organization, as it influences working conditions and the use of teacher time; and
- school funding, as it shapes the compensation and teaching resources available to teachers.
This study had many significant contributors:
