Michael Wald: Full Interview on "Improving Educational Outcomes by Improving Parenting"

Release Date:
December 9, 2013

Over the past 40 years, societal efforts to promote children's development and academic success have expanded significantly. Most of the attention has been on improving the non-family institutions that serve children—especially the health, childcare, and education systems—and there has been far less attention to improving parenting. In this interview, Stanford Law Professor Michael Wald discusses such topics as: what outcomes we want for our children and how to get them there, the need for a better system of services that includes more funding and early childhood education programs, and the moral responsibility to help the poorest 20% of children.

This interview followed Wald's SCOPE Brown Bag Lecture: "Improving Educational Outcomes By Improving Parenting" on December 9, 2013.
