A National Board Certified teacher in Adolescent Young Adult Mathematics, Geetha taught high school math in schools around the San Francisco Bay Area. She has also supported pre-service and in-service classroom teachers as an instructional coach in Oakland, California and teacher educator at Stanford. Geetha earned her M.A. in Education from Stanford University, and her B.A. in American Culture from the University of Michigan.
I believe in the power of accomplished teachers to be a leading force for change in education and in students’ lives and am committed to building spaces where teachers can learn from one another to strengthen their instructional practice. I am particularly passionate about supporting teachers from underrepresented populations and who teach in under-resourced communities to find growth, leadership, and sustainability in the teaching profession.
I believe that SCOPE’s vision of a world in which each and every child has access to a meaningful education is reliant on teachers having access to meaningful learning and professional growth. My work at SCOPE supports accomplished teachers through National Board certification and other leadership opportunities by facilitating opportunities for teachers to learn together to improve their practice.
